Kfm 94.5 Opens Nominations for 2026 Best of the Cape Awards

Kfm 94.5 Opens Nominations for 2026 Best of the Cape Awards. Kfm 94.5 has opened nominations for the sixth edition of its Best of the Cape Awards, powered by Yoco, inviting the public to recognise the businesses, destinations and experiences that make the Western Cape stand out.

The launch follows the 2025 edition of the awards, which recorded more than 400,000 votes and nearly 17,000 nominations. This year’s campaign continues the initiative’s focus on celebrating local businesses, community favourites and visitor experiences across the province.

Nominations are now open across 30 categories, including the newly introduced Best Place to be Seen Award. The new category recognises locations that have attracted attention through social media engagement, including restaurants and other venues that inspire photos, videos and online conversations.

Other categories include Best Date Night Restaurant, Best Kids Party Spot, Best Adventure Experience and Best Neighbourhood Shop, alongside several additional awards covering different sectors and experiences.

Kfm 94.5 station manager Hennie Myburgh said the awards continue to celebrate the communities and businesses that contribute to the identity of the Western Cape.

“Six phenomenal years of Best of the Cape Awards and the excitement keeps building. This isn’t just an award, it’s a celebration of the soul, the spark and the unstoppable spirit of the communities we live in and serve.”

Myburgh encouraged listeners to explore the province and nominate businesses and destinations they believe deserve recognition.

Yoco is supporting the awards for the third consecutive year. Co-founder Carl Wazen said the initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses.

“The Kfm Best of the Cape Awards celebrates exactly the kind of business Yoco was built for. The café owner, the salon owner, the retailer who built something real and put their name on it.”

He added that the awards provide an opportunity to recognise businesses that play an important role within their communities.

According to the organisers, nominations opened on 7 July 2026 and will close on 17 July 2026. Finalists are scheduled to be announced on 4 August, followed by public voting from 5 August to 13 August. Winners will be revealed on 21 August 2026.

Members of the public can submit nominations for their preferred businesses and experiences through the official Best of the Cape Awards website. The awards continue to provide a platform for recognising businesses, attractions and experiences across the Western Cape.
