Nomzamo Mbatha Collaborates With PUMA To Release Her Own Collection. South African actress, activist and UN ambassador Nomzamo Mbatha proves that not even 2020 can stop her star from rising. Nomzamo Mbatha has been the ambassador of Puma for a couple of years and she has now managed to secure a deal where she will release her own collection with the sportswear band. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Shandu collection that is dedicated to her grandmother’s clan is set to be released this month. She has been involved in a number of events or campaigns that the brand has been doing such as the DO YOU Campaign. The campaign was created to inspire confidence and to challenge women to take ownership of themselves, their bodies and their situations.
“I love the fact that more and more brands are encouraging beauty in all its forms, promoting individuality instead of conformity, and spreading the message of strength and confidence in your own abilities. Each one of us should set out to identify and celebrate our own, unique beauty. I think we are definitely living in a time where women are taking back their identity; we’re taking back the narrative of feminism and we’re saying I’m going to do me. The only way to ‘DO YOU’ is to be you.” Mbatha said in an interview with 9Lives. For Mbatha this campaign is all about staying true to you.
Mbatha joined the women that appeared in the campaign, including international model, actress and activist Cara Delevigne, Mimi Staker and Olivia Boisson of the New York City Ballet, German track and field athletes Alexandra Wester and Tatjana Pinto, and Cuban volleyball players Leila Consuelo Ortega Martinez and Lianma Flores Stable and Rihanna.
“I am so excited about this message. We live in a time when you can be anything you want – if you can dream it, you really can achieve success with hard work. The important thing is to stand firmly behind your beliefs and who you are. I think we should all celebrate what makes you unique and use that as your guiding track in this life. It is so easy to blend in, to look and dress like everyone else, to echo mass opinions, but are you really doing something true to you, or are you following the crowd? The ‘DO YOU’ advertising campaign offers an assortment of cross-category product from PUMA’s Running & Training and Sportstyle collections.” added Mbatha.
