Pre-loved Clothing StartUp Yaga Raises €2.2 Million In Funding. Pre-loved clothing StartUp Yaga has announced that it has raised €2.2 million in funding in order to expand around the world. The founder of the company Aune Aunapuu took to LinkedIn to make the announcement.

The post read, “YAY! We’re so excited to share that we’ve raised €2.2 million to bring pre-loved fashion to more people around the world. We’ve been living and breathing this idea for almost five years now, and it’s amazing to see it grow and come to life. As a small team in Estonia, we started out with a simple mission: to make thrifting easy, safe and fun—and now we’re doing just that across South Africa (yaga.co.za), Estonia (yaga.ee), Kenya (yaga.co.ke) and India (shopyaga.in).”

The post continued to say, “We’re big believers in the circular economy, and this is just another step toward making our planet a better place for all of us.When you buy pre-loved clothing from Yaga, you not only get amazing items at great prices; you also help the environment by reducing waste. And we think that’s pretty cool. Plus, there’s an economic opportunity here too: being able to both make money on Yaga AND save money will matter during challenging times like these. We’re so grateful for all of our investors – Startup Wise Guys, Trind Ventures, Specialist VC, RUBYLIGHT and angels – who have believed in us. Thank you so much! Thank you my amazing team Karl Erik Kotkas, Anette Apri, Rauno Kristjan, Henrik Peinar, Jane Roostar, Lize De Klerk, Cole Wesson, Elina Sala, Cätlyn Tamm, Kaisa-Kristi Kruuspak, Annabel Mõtus, Maarja-Grisel Mets, Aleksei Milishenko, Muhammad Bilal Shahid. It would have been impossible without you!”

YAGA is the fastest growing marketplace for preloved fashion in South Africa. Yaga launched a pilot in Tallinn, Estonia and expanded to South Africa in early 2020 where Yaga shortly became the number one choice for South Africans for selling their preloved fashion pieces online. The company supports local communities by giving everyone the chance to start their online business on Yaga. Its goal is to make person-to-person buying and selling secondhand as easy and safe as possible.
