Welcome to Book Ibhoni; Cycling with a difference. The much anticipated mobile bike store is starting to take shape following months of planning and setting up. The ultimate goal is to set up a bike store in Soweto, South Africa at the same time empowering the children of Soweto.
The store idea is so genius because finally the love and passion for cycling will be realized in Soweto growing its horizon from where it already is now. Book Ibhoni is a tour company that offers fun & educational bicycle tours amongst other activities in & around the historic township of Orlando in Soweto.
Through unique bicycle tour packages, business owner and social entrepreneur, Mpumelelo Mtintso aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and the importance of literacy among children in his community. Mpumelelo offers discounted bicycle tours in exchange for books, which he donates to libraries and schools in his community.
There is more to the bicycle initiative. Through Book Ibhoni, he organises events where he engages with the children of the community and reads books to them. An act of complete selflessness and desire to see children become knowledgeable in his community.
Mpumelelo is now on a mission to open a store in Soweto. He made this apparent in a tweet highlighting the need for the store. He further went on to encourage members of society to purchase bikes and socks as fundraising towards the opening of the store.
