This Is How Jamguard Is Changing How People Keep Their Cars Safe From Jammers. Jamguard compliments a car’s security system. It detects criminals attempting to jam a car remote locking system and a vehicle alarm. Clients are immediately alerted when someone is trying to prevent them from locking their car.

The company innovates to keep its clients one step ahead of today’s tech savvy criminal. It’s simple, affordable solutions are designed to protect its clients and their property. ‘Jamguard’ is a smart key fob that alerts clients if vehicle jammers are operating, when they lock their car. ‘Jamguard Professional’ includes a vehicle mounted listening device together with a 20dB siren, to alert clients if jammers are operating near their vehicle, at all times.

Designed and built in South Africa, the ‘Jamguard’ smart key fob alerts clients if car jammers are around the vicinity of the car so that they may be alert and quick to act should anything happen. Thieves cannot hide their jamming signal from ‘Jamguard’: ‘Jamguard’ always listens for signal jamming devices. It detects if jammers are operating on 433MHz, which is the frequency currently used for remote vehicle locking. It emits audible and visual alert, if a jamming device is being used. ‘Jamguard’s’ lightweight and compact design fits onto their car key ring – they won’t notice it’s there until they need it! It is also easy to use; it works straight out-of-the-box (no set-up or installation required).

According to the company car remote jamming has reached epidemic proportions in South Africa. In Sandton alone, more than 40 incidents of car jamming are reported every week. Hot spots for this type of crime are school drop-offs, petrol stations, car parks and shopping centres.

Criminals use signal jammers to prevent car keys from locking and setting the alarm. Victims walk away from their cars, unaware that they have been jammed and that their vehicles remain unlocked and vulnerable. This leaves the path clear for thieves to help themselves to the victim’s belongings without trace, and even take the car itself. What’s more, insurance companies may not pay out claims from victims of car jammers, as there is no forced entry.
