Cape Town Beauty Therapist Opens Own Spa After Getting Retrenched Due To Lockdown! A Cape Town beauty therapist’s story is restoring hope across social media after her story of how she opened up her own business during the COVID-19 pandemic following retrenchment went viral.

Singathwa Magxothwa lost her job at a prestigious hotel in Cape Town due to the lockdown. The single mother of two had to find ways to take care of her family, the result was the start of her entrepreneurial journey that saw her open her own spa which she called Kuhle Spa. Singathwa said although she had was not prepared financially to open her dream business, she knew it was time to start.

She shared her entrepreneurial journey so far with DRUM Magazine saying, “It hasn’t been easy to get clients and cashflow, as I had expected but I have faith that this will happen and I know this path will have to be one filled with a lot of patience.”

“This experience is making me strong day by day because I know that it’s not easy to start something of your own. I couldn’t wait around until the hotel industry picked up again and I could not sit on my hands when God gave them to me to be used,” she added.
