HouseME’s Plan To Ease The Rental Process For Tenants And Landlords. The rise of digital technology has brought many innovative businesses that offer services to customers in a much simpler and convenient way. Every industry has processes that need to be followed in order to achieve specific desired results. However, some processes of certain industries can be very tedious and stressful to be completed. The process of finding a tenant to rent a property can be complex as many people aren’t educated in terms of what is required and the different costs that need to be paid for one to rent a property successfully. Digital technology has made it possible for this startup to provide solutions to landlords who might be in a similar predicament.

HouseME was founded by Ben Shaw (pictured) and Kyle Bradley in 2016 after they both experienced how inefficient the rental market is if one does not have sufficient knowledge or insight about the process and what is needed when renting out a property. “Neither agents nor landlords have an accurate view of exactly what a property is worth to a tenant – only the tenant knows that.” said Shaw in an interview with Biz Community.

It is a digital company that uses technology to make renting easier and more affordable for landlords and tenants. It focuses on providing help to landlords with finding tenants, credit checks, rent collection, guaranteed rent and access to maintenance providers.

HouseMe plans on transforming residential renting for every South African by eliminating the stress, risk and unfair discrimination that comes with renting property. It plans on achieving this by placing technology and data-centric decision making at its heart as this provides better accuracy in determining whether a tenant is suitable for a property or not. HouseMe has partnered with companies such as Gumtree, Private Property and Property 24 to reach more people and make their experience of finding a tenant or landlord a seamless one.

In a few short years it has managed to become an award winning technology based rental management company with a national footprint. According to its website it has over 5000 landlords across South Africa that are registered on its platform and 6000 tenants that respond to their property ads every month.
