How Pargo Delivers Delivering Services To Businesses

How Pargo Delivers Delivering Services To Businesses. Pargo is a South African smart logistics tech startup that solves the challenges of last mile distribution. It provides a service that allows consumers, companies and couriers to send and receive parcels at pickup points that are located at convenient retail stores across Southern Africa.

Most people in South Africa live in areas where they have limited access to goods and services, areas such as informal settlements and rural areas are difficult to for a courier company to send parcels to and this is why Pargo has developed an alternative solution.

Pargo was founded by Lars Veul who is the Director and joint CEO and Derk Hoekert who is also the joint CEO in 2015. Pargo’s goal is to be able to create access for anyone in Africa to by creating a network of pickup points which are supported by its smart logistics technology platform.

By doing this it strives to be a key enabler of e-commerce on the continent and connect retailers and consumers globally. “We do this at a price that is more affordable, through locations that are more accessible and while giving our users the flexibility to choose a time and location convenient to them.” it said on its website.

Pargo has since built a network of over 2500 convenient pickup points together with great businesses and allow thousands of people to send and receive parcels every day. It has been chosen as one of the nine finalists at the FNB business Innovation Awards (FNB BIA) in association with Endeavor South Africa.

Mike Vacy-Lyle, CEO of FNB Business said, “Much of the reason behind the need to encourage businesses through these awards is that they hold the greatest possibility to answer to the socio-economic challenges that South Africa finds itself in.” in a statement on Pargo’s website.
