DKMS Africa Announces Its Partnership With Former Miss SA, Shudufhadzo Musida

DKMS Africa Announces Its Partnership With Former Miss SA, Shudufhadzo Musida. South African donor recruitment centre and registry DKMS Africa has announced that it has partnered with former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida in order to raise awareness about blood donation. When a patient is diagnosed with blood cancer, time is of the essence. That is why DKMS Africa teamed up with Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, in hopes of making strides to raise awareness about the urgent need to diversify the global donor registry and save lives.

The post read, “SHUDUFHADZO MUSIDA JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST BLOOD CANCER! The DKMS Africa Family is pleased to announce that Shudufhadzo Musida (Miss South Africa 2020) has joined the fight against blood cancer! With our partners, we look forward to making strides in collectively raising awareness of the urgent need of diversifying the global donor registry and saving lives.”

DKMS Africa is a donor recruitment centre and registry. The organisation fights blood disorders and cancers like leukaemia through the recruitment of stem cell donors and maintaining a registry of potential donors committed to helping anyone in need of a life-saving stem cell transplant. It fundraises to cover the cost of education and awareness about the need for and the process to become a blood stem cell donor as well as to cover the cost of the HLA tissue-typing test involved in the recruitment of donors.

“Life-threatening illnesses such as blood cancer affect entire families. The financial burden, impact on mental health, and access to medical care for diagnosed patients and their families are immeasurable. Through this partnership, I will work to add a voice, shine the light and ensure patients receive holistic support,” shared the passionate Miss Musida.
