Businesses Owned By Major League DJs. Major League DJz consists of twins Bandile and Banele. This twin set is a dynamic duo bringing fresh energy to every platform they engage with. Born in Boston, USA, the twins moved to South Africa after the apartheid era. Being exposed to music at a very young age, Major League DJz was highly influenced by the sounds of Jazz and Hip-Hop music which ushered them into the entertainment industry in their early teens. Below are some of the businesses owned by Major League DJs.
Major League Gardens
The Major League Gardens Social Festival is one of the biggest party events on the Joburg calendar. They provide a day of incredible music, food and drink at the iconic Soccer City (FNB Stadium) venue in Nasrec. Hosted by Major League DJz and Channel O, the event promises to be a summer outdoor funfair event, with the best outdoor activities and live stage of the best acts Mzansi can offer. “It was just really about what are we doing outside of just making music and we needed to create something that represents us in a way and represents the music we believe in. So, that’s why we came up with that concept,” Banele told Sowetan Live on starting Major League Gardens.
Amapiano Live Balcony Mix
This is an online music event founded and hosted by the Major League DJs that is broadcasted on their YouTube channel. This show has grown from the days were the twins were the only ones doing mixes, to now where artists such as Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa have also appeared on the show to perform their own mixes. This show has grown immensely as most of their videos have over 500 000 views.
Major League DJs Merchandise
The duo has also been pushing their merchandise for some time now. With their brand receiving so much love the boys decided to put together a range of t-shirts, caps, beanies and hoodies and named it after them ‘Major League’. The range has been selling at their shows, and earlier this year they put up a pop-up store at Sandton City together with Cassper Nyovest and Riky Rick.
