Checkers SA Launches A Stand Alone ‘Little Me’ Baby Store

Checkers SA Launches A Stand Alone ‘Little Me’ Baby Store. Checkers South Africa has announced the launch of its stand alone Little Me baby store. The store will have a range of top baby brands, including maternity wear exclusively designed and manufactured by local supplier, Cherry Melon.

Other brands available at Little Me include: · Noola – prams, carry cots, booster seats, and many other products (exclusive to Little Me); Umatie – baby and toddler food; Ree Collective – baby bags; and Stokke – prams, furniture, car seats and accessories (only available at Little Me Drakenstein). “Little Me is an opportunity to offer our parent-customers fantastic baby brands at supermarket prices. With a destination baby store, parents can browse the brands and products on offer at leisure, with specialist in-store employees on standby to be of assistance.” Willem Hunlun, Chief Operating Officer at Checkers said in a statement.

With this launch of a new baby store, Checkers aims to enter fully into the baby products market, which is very lucrative. The company is diversifying its investment portfolio by establishing subsidiaries that will become successful in their own markets. Checkers’ venture into this market will see the store building a long lasting relationship with its customers and will build a solid customer base that will support the store for years and even generations to come.

In addition to the standalone Little Me store in Drakenstein (Paarl), there are also dedicated Little Me’s located in the following supermarkets: Checkers Hyper Brackenfell (Fairbridge Mall, Western Cape); Checkers Hyper Edenvale (Meadowdale Mall, Gauteng); Checkers Hyper The Orchards (Mbombela, Mpumalanga); Checkers Hyper Pavillion (Westville, KwaZulu-Natal); Checkers Hyper Somerset West (Helderberg Mall, Western Cape) and Checkers Hyper Bloemfontein (Fleurdal Mall, Free State).

Checkers is a FMCG retailer owned by Shoprite that operates in Southern Africa. Checkers currently has 37 Checkers Hypers and 202 Checkers supermarkets operating in Botswana, South Africa and Namibia.
