RH Managers Invests R270 Million In State-Of-The-Art Private Hospital. RH Managers, a leading private equity firm specialising in healthcare investments, proudly announces the completion and commencement of operations of Herolim Private Hospital, a cutting-edge healthcare facility in Mthatha.

This investment of R270 million, split evenly between debt and equity, signifies our commitment to providing high-quality and affordable healthcare services to the local community. Situated in Callaway at the heart of Mthatha, Herolim Private Hospital is a 76-bed facility, with plans for expansion to 130 beds in the near future. It joins a network of 18 healthcare facilities owned and operated by Africa Healthcare across the country.

Quinton Zunga, CEO of RH Managers, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Mthatha represents a growing economic hub in the Eastern Cape, deserving of a private healthcare facility. We are proud to contribute to meeting this need and bringing advanced healthcare closer to residents. Aligned with our mission to extend private healthcare to peri-urban areas in South Africa, Herolim Private Hospital is a pivotal component of our strategic vision.”

Dr. Mkhuseli Mashiyi, a respected physician in the Mthatha area, has been instrumental in championing Herolim Private Hospital. Dr. Mashiyi emphasised, “Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right denied to many in regions like the Eastern Cape. Our endeavour is to bridge this gap and serve the growing population with excellence.”

The construction of Herolim Private Hospital has not only enhanced healthcare infrastructure but also contributed over R150 million to the local economy through procurement of building materials, supplies, and labour. Featuring state-of-the-art amenities, including a catheterisation laboratory for specialised heart treatments and a pathology laboratory, Herolim Private Hospital will provide comprehensive healthcare services. Obstetrics, gynaecology, and cardiology treatments for both adults and children will be offered, ensuring that the people of Mthatha receive top-tier care.

South Africa faces a critical need for accessible healthcare, with a significant portion of the population relying on public facilities. RH Managers aims to narrow this divide by offering affordable private healthcare options. Over the past eight years, RH Managers has invested in 34 hospitals and four ancillary care facilities, bolstering bed capacity to 3100 beds and furthering its commitment to healthcare excellence.
