StartUp Mag caught up with him to find out more about the brand as a whole and what makes them unique.

What inspired you to join the team, Hyperice?

Lockdown 2020 brought about a period in my life of self-reflection and realignment of values and life goals, the Hyperice opportunity fortuitously presented itself, the brand and values immediately spoke to me and I aligned with it.

What is the story behind the brand, Hyperice?

Hyperice is designed to help to relieve tension, unlock sore muscles, and prime your body and mind to be at their best, so you can always find the simple fun in doing what you love to do, more. Our mission is simple – to help everyone move better, recover faster, live better and be better in their own trade. Whether you’re an elite athlete or an individual who is simply looking for solutions to combat the impact of daily life, our range of innovative products are here to help you unlock the best version of yourself.  We ultimately want people to move quicker, recover faster and enjoy exercise and training without having to worry about the after-effects of stiffness and soreness.

What makes your product or service unique – how do you define yourself apart from your competitors?

As the Business Development and Sales Manager in South Africa, what all does your job entail?

Developing the market in South Africa and rest of Africa, build and grow the brand, looking after the customer experience of our products and ultimately help people recover and live better .

What did you have to sacrifice on your journey to success?

I believe in being passionate about the brand you work for and have had career satisfaction at all former brands, if anything it would’ve been job security at an  amazing established South African company where I have spent the previous 6 years, with the risk of joining an exciting start-up in the global space

What gives you the most satisfaction being a part of the Hyperice team?

The drive, the energy, the excitement and most of all the “family” even though everyone is spread globally throughout the world.

Which individual/s or organisation/s have played a role in your success at Hyperice?

I’ve had many role models during my career and have learnt from all my peers in previous roles, I cannot single out one person here as there has been too many, however, what I can say is that staying humble and always willing to learn leads to impeccable results.

What are some of the surprising things that people do not know about Hyperice?

Hyperice has applied its technology and know-how to industries such as fitness, esports, healthcare, massage, and workplace wellness on a global scale. We do not just cater for professional sportsmen, but to any individual who could benefit from our recovery products. On some scale, every individual is active, and therefore, recovery and body-health is needed.

Out of everything you have achieved, what do you value most?

Friendships for guidance; Peers for learning and Family for support!

How do you define a Wealthy life?

Family, Job satisfaction, self-actualisation, Do What You Love, more.

What are your future plans and aspirations for Hyperice as a whole?

To be the number 1 recovery technology brand in South Africa and rest of Africa, and continuously helping people improve their daily movement and wellness.
