Orlando Pirates Player Deon Hotto Ventures Into Farming

Orlando Pirates Player Deon Hotto Ventures Into Farming. It has been reported that Orlando Pirates Player Deon Hotto has ventured into the farming business. According to Kick Off, Hotto reveled this when he was in his home country of Namibia “I own cattle such as goats and various other livestock at my farm in Swakopmund,” Hotto told Kick Off. “I have about 54 cattle. At the moment I am not doing it as a business but only for subsistence farming. “I have family members looking after the farm when I am in South Africa.”

Deon Hotto Kavendji in Swakopmund, Namibia, is a Namibian international footballer who plays for Orlando Pirates and for the Namibia football team. Hotto shows that having investments in businesses that one is passionate about and understands to the core brings success. Even though Hotto is not yet farming for financial gain, this is a great investment as the assets that he posses to run the farm, such as equipment and land, so that his family can have enough yield will be more valuable in the future.

He can decide to enter the commercial farming industry at any point he wants as he is setting up the foundation of running a farm in the family. This will instill the skills that they will need to make sure that the farm becomes a success when it becomes commercial. According to Kick Off, Hotto lives a moderate lifestyle even though he is playing for one of the biggest teams in the PSL, this could mean that he aims to invest most of his money so that he is financially stable when he retires from football.

There are lot of soccer players who are defying the stigma of ‘going broke’ when they retire, some players managed to save their money and made sensible investments. This is something that Hotto will aim to do as he seeks to build a legacy for his family.
