Maf Roda Expands Its Footprint In South Africa’s Citrusdal Citrus Production Region

Maf Roda Expands Its Footprint In South Africa’s Citrusdal Citrus Production Region. Mad Road has been able to expand its footprint in the Citrusdal Valley of South Africa. The company’s VIOTEC system has helped it to become more efficient in identifying small rotten fruits which can be missed during a manual inspection.

Jan Coetzer, MD of Groenkloof Sitrus told Fresh Plaza that their decision to go with Maf Roda as a packline service provider was the result of extensive research. “We concluded that Maf Roda’s Globalscan 7 technology, blemish sorting and wet line quality stood out as the best, and that the company offered the best turnkey solution for dependable packlines,” he says.

Some companies develop their own capacity; others prefer to rely on a trusted partner. This is where MAF RODA RSA comes in. As the 15th subsidiary of the MAF RODA Group, MAF RODA RSA was officially established in South Africa in 2011. This entity benefits from the involvement of the Group headquarter situated in the south-western production basin of France, since 1962 in grading machine business and from their development in early 80’s of the mechanical systems into electronic and automatic systems, with the birth of its first electronic graders. Since that time, MAF RODA AGROBOTIC has specialised in the development and production of turnkey conveyor lines for grading, electronically sorting and packaging fresh fruit and vegetables.

“We really appreciated the work relationship established with the entire team at Groenkloof,” Fabrice Blanc, General Manager of Maf Agrobotic and Director of Maf Roda RSA told Fresh Plaza. “It has been key in providing us with an understanding of the work process and insightful inputs regarding the main production objectives of the fruit station. This assisted us in defining and establishing the most appropriate and valuable sorting and packing solution for Groenkloof. During our visit in June, we have been able to witness Groenkloof’s operational teams taking control of the management of this global “tool” that we have installed to best meet their daily needs. We have also witnessed their satisfaction of the improvements already achieved in their work,” explains Blanc.
