Balloré Completes The Sale Of Bolloré Africa Logistics To The MSC Group. Following Bolloré SE’s press releases of March 31st and December 1st, 2022, Bolloré SE announces the completion today of the sale to the MSC Group of 100% of Bolloré Africa Logistics, comprising all of the Bolloré Group transport and logistics activities in Africa, on the basis of a 5.7 billion euro enterprise value, net of minority interests. The sale price of the shares is 5.1 billion euros ; 600 million euros of shareholder loans were also repaid.

The Bolloré Group will remain strongly involved in Africa, notably through Canal+, and will also continue to develop on this continent its activities in many fields such as communications, entertainment, telecommunications and publishing. The sale concerns all the Bolloré Group’s transport and logistics activities in Africa. Bolloré Logistics pursues its ambition to be recognized as a leader in international logistics to Africa, providing advice and supporting the international development of small and medium-sized businesses and large groups in the overall management of their flows to this continent.

The story of the MSC Group began in Brussels in 1970, when captain Gianluigi Aponte founded the company with just a small cargo ship: the MV Patricia. The business has since grown and diversified to include a highly successful cruise line and passenger ferry services, as well as leading inland and port terminal infrastructure. Headquartered in Geneva, the Group remains privately owned and focused on caring for customers, employees and the environment.

Bolloré Africa Logistics, is the biggest transport and logistics operator in Africa, where it has a network without equal with 250 subsidiaries and almost 21,000 employees in 49 countries, including 47 in Africa.
