Ecommerce Counsel Joins Takealot Seller Success Network as Vetted Service Provider

Ecommerce Counsel Joins Takealot Seller Success Network as Vetted Service Provider. Cape Town-based Ecommerce Counsel has been named a vetted member of the Takealot Seller Success Network (SSN), a programme through which Takealot recognises agencies and service providers that meet its standards for supporting sellers on the platform.

Ecommerce Counsel provides Amazon and Takealot account management services to South African brands. Its inclusion in the Seller Success Network gives businesses another option when seeking professional support to manage their presence on Takealot.

The network provides brands with a vetted selection of agencies and service providers that can assist with marketplace operations. Ecommerce Counsel said its new status complements its existing membership of the Amazon Service Provider Network.

The company said the two memberships give it verified partner status on both Amazon and Takealot, the two major e-commerce platforms on which it provides managed account services.

Maon Seidel, founder and CEO of Ecommerce Counsel, said the Takealot listing provides an indication of the standards the agency is required to meet when supporting brands on the marketplace.

“The SSN listing is a Takealot endorsement which matters to brands that are deciding who to trust with its marketplace revenue,” said Seidel.

According to Ecommerce Counsel, some brands approach the agency after encountering challenges with account setup, product listings and ongoing marketplace management.

The agency operates a dual-platform model, allowing clients to manage their Amazon and Takealot accounts through a single service. Its services are focused on helping brands manage their marketplace operations rather than handling the platforms independently.

The development comes as South Africa’s e-commerce sector continues to evolve following Amazon’s launch of Amazon.co.za in 2024. Amazon Prime subsequently launched in South Africa in June 2026.

Ecommerce Counsel said these developments have increased the focus on how brands manage their marketplace presence.

The company’s addition to the Takealot Seller Success Network gives it a formal position within Takealot’s network of recognised seller-support providers.

For brands using marketplace platforms, managing accounts can involve setting up listings, maintaining product information and handling ongoing account requirements. Ecommerce Counsel said its role is to provide brands with managed support across these functions on both Amazon and Takealot.

The agency’s founder said the SSN membership is relevant to brands looking for accountability when selecting a service provider to manage marketplace revenue.

Ecommerce Counsel’s inclusion in the network marks its latest development as a South African e-commerce agency operating across both Amazon and Takealot, with the company continuing to offer managed marketplace services to local brands.
