Cornet Mamabolo Announces Establishment of Shandalea College

Cornet Mamabolo Announces Establishment of Shandalea College. South African actor and businessman Cornet Mamabolo has announced the establishment of a new educational institution, Shandalea College. The announcement was shared on Mamabolo’s official Instagram account, where he reflected on the personal significance of the project and its connection to community development.
In his post, Mamabolo described the college as a meaningful milestone, expressing gratitude and noting that the initiative represents a personal achievement as he exits the youth bracket. He characterised the college as an economic contributor within his village and surrounding communities, highlighting its intended role in skills development and opportunity creation.
The name Shandalea is derived from the Swahili phrase “Zidisha, Linda na Kulea,” which translates to Build, Protect and Nurture. The name is engineered from the final letters of the three words and is described as conveying the meaning to multiply, protect and nurture.
Shandalea College was established in 2024 and operates as an accredited training provider focused on addressing youth unemployment and closing skills gaps across South Africa. Its programmes are aligned with the National Qualifications Framework and are registered under the South African Qualifications Authority.
The institution offers occupational skills development through learnerships, mentorships, graduate and internship placements, and workplace integrated learning. Its services include the facilitation of accredited training, assessment and moderation, development of training material, and project management.

Shandalea College specialises in several sectors, including agriculture, information technology, transport, and artisan trades. The college also provides Trade Testing and Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning, which supports individuals seeking formal recognition for existing skills and experience.
The institution holds accreditation with AgriSETA, MICTSETA, the Services SETA, and the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations. These accreditations enable the delivery of recognised qualifications and occupational programmes across multiple industries.
According to its stated values, Shandalea College is founded on principles of integrity, professionalism, transparency, and accountability. The institution positions its work within a broader commitment to empowerment and sustainable economic development through education and training initiatives.

Mamabolo’s announcement has drawn attention to private sector participation in skills development initiatives. By combining accredited training structures with sector focused programmes, the college outlines an approach centred on practical training pathways. Shandalea College states that its mandate is to contribute meaningfully to workforce readiness while supporting long term economic participation through structured learning opportunities. The institution operates within South Africa’s established education and training regulatory framework.
