Vodacom Expands Digital Offering With Amazon Prime Partnership

Vodacom Expands Digital Offering With Amazon Prime Partnership. Vodacom South Africa has announced a new partnership with Amazon South Africa that will give eligible customers access to Amazon Prime benefits as part of selected mobile and broadband products, marking a further expansion of bundled digital services in the country’s telecommunications market.
The agreement introduces Amazon Prime benefits across a range of Vodacom products, combining entertainment, shopping and delivery services under a single subscription offering.
According to Vodacom, customers subscribed to Red Core, Red Flexi and Red VIP plans will qualify for Amazon Prime access. The company also confirmed that customers signing up for eligible Home Internet, Mobile Broadband and Fibre packages will become eligible for the offering from August 2026.
As part of the launch, Red Flexi customers will receive a three-month Amazon Prime trial, while Red Core customers will receive a 12-month trial period before standard subscription fees apply. Following the trial period, Amazon Prime will be available at a cost of R59 per month for eligible customers.
Vodacom said Red VIP, Home Internet and Fibre customers will continue receiving access to Amazon Prime for as long as they remain eligible and the service remains available. The company also noted that prepaid customers will be able to subscribe to Amazon Prime and pay using airtime.
Amazon Prime offers a range of benefits, including access to Prime Video streaming content, shopping discounts, early access to selected deals and delivery options such as same-day and next-day delivery in qualifying areas. The subscription also includes gaming-related benefits and a Twitch channel subscription through Amazon Luna.
The latest agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Vodacom first introduced Prime Video services in South Africa in 2020 and later launched Prime Video Mobile Edition in 2022. The new partnership expands the collaboration beyond streaming into Amazon’s broader Prime ecosystem.
Vodacom said the move aligns with its strategy of providing customers with more than traditional connectivity services by incorporating digital lifestyle products into its offerings.
