Mr Price Foundation Selects Three Women Entrepreneurs for Coffee Business Incubator

Mr Price Foundation Selects Three Women Entrepreneurs for Coffee Business Incubator. Three women entrepreneurs have been selected to operate coffee kiosks inside Mr Price Home stores as part of the inaugural Mr Price Foundation Coffee Incubator, a programme designed to provide practical business experience within a retail environment.
From 3 August 2026, Matshidiso Mack, Noxolo Molefe and Zandile Tibane began managing coffee kiosks in Cape Town, Durban and Mbombela respectively, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of their businesses.
The entrepreneurs were chosen through a national application process and will each operate a working café kiosk located inside a Mr Price Home store. Their responsibilities include customer service, stock management, daily operations and basic financial administration, with their income linked directly to business performance.
Matshidiso Mack will run the kiosk at Mr Price Home Diep River in Cape Town, while Noxolo Molefe is based at Mr Price Home Hillcrest in Durban. Zandile Tibane will manage the kiosk at Mr Price Home Nelspruit Crossing in Mbombela.
According to Mr Price Foundation Entrepreneurship Development Programme Manager Duduzile Mathabela, the initiative aims to equip emerging entrepreneurs with practical skills while positioning them to participate in South Africa’s expanding coffee market.
She cited research by Bonafide Research projecting annual growth of more than 7% in South Africa’s coffee market between 2024 and 2029.
“Through the Foundation Coffee Incubator, our aim is to build a pipeline of entrepreneurs who understand the coffee business, have experience serving real customers and can turn the growth of South Africa’s coffee economy into sustainable businesses and livelihoods,” Mathabela said.
The incubator combines mentorship and business skills development with practical experience gained from operating active retail kiosks.
Each participant enters the programme with an existing entrepreneurial background. Mack is the founder of Bosire Brew Coffee Specialists, a coffee training and consulting business, and also operates LaundryMack. Molefe owns the mobile coffee business Koffee Lam, while Tibane runs a mobile bar business alongside her work as an HR consultant.
Mr Price Foundation said the programme is intended to address one of the key challenges facing emerging entrepreneurs by providing access to customers, infrastructure and operational support within an established retail setting.
Mathabela said the participants are gaining experience in a live commercial environment rather than a simulated training programme.
“Our role is to provide the mentorship and operational support that can help turn that opportunity into something sustainable,” she said.
The Foundation Coffee Incubator forms part of the Mr Price Foundation’s efforts to support entrepreneurship by combining business training with hands-on operational experience, enabling participants to develop practical skills while managing businesses in active retail locations.
