CA&S Acquires 30% Stake in Digital Marketing Agency TDMC

CA&S Acquires 30% Stake in Digital Marketing Agency TDMC. CA&S Group has acquired a 30% shareholding in The Digital Media Collective (TDMC), an award-winning South African digital marketing and e-commerce agency, as part of a strategic move to strengthen its digital commerce capabilities across Southern and East Africa.

The transaction includes a pathway to majority ownership over a phased transition period, marking a significant development in CA&S’s efforts to expand its service offering for brand owners and retailers operating in an increasingly digital marketplace.

According to the Group, the investment is aimed at creating a more connected growth platform that combines CA&S’s established physical route-to-market infrastructure with TDMC’s expertise in digital commerce, performance marketing and e-commerce solutions.

The move comes as consumer purchasing journeys continue to evolve across multiple channels, including physical stores, online platforms and digital marketplaces. CA&S said businesses are increasingly required to connect customer engagement, product availability and sales conversion across both digital and traditional retail environments.

“Consumer journeys are no longer linear, and growth increasingly depends on how well brands connect physical availability, digital visibility and meaningful customer engagement,” said Duncan Lewis, CEO of CA&S Group.

“Our investment in TDMC gives us access to deep digital commerce expertise and enhances our ability to help clients build relevance, drive performance and unlock growth in an omnichannel world.”

TDMC brings a range of capabilities to the partnership, including e-commerce strategy, Shopify development, marketplace management, performance media, customer relationship management, content creation, creative services, data analytics and digital marketing.

These services complement CA&S’s existing operations in retail execution, warehousing, distribution, fulfilment, advisory services, technology solutions and route-to-market support.

Cheryl Ingram, founder and CEO of TDMC, said the partnership was built around the complementary strengths of both businesses.

“CA&S reaches parts of the retail journey we don’t, and we reach parts they don’t. That is the whole point of this coming together of our two businesses,” said Ingram.

TDMC currently holds several industry accreditations, including Shopify Plus Partner, Google Premier Partner, Meta Business Partner and Klaviyo Gold Partner status. The company said these partnerships support its ability to provide integrated e-commerce solutions to retailers and brands across South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and East Africa.

CA&S said the investment reflects its long-term strategy to expand its digital commerce ecosystem and help clients navigate changing consumer behaviour across both physical and online sales channels.

TDMC will continue operating under its current leadership structure and maintain its specialist focus while gaining access to CA&S’s regional footprint, client relationships and broader business network.
