John Craig launches R200,000 platform for emerging entrepreneurs

John Craig launches R200,000 platform for emerging entrepreneurs. Fashion retailer John Craig has launched The Entrepreneur Edit, an initiative aimed at supporting emerging entrepreneurs through mentorship, business resources and practical support.
The initiative will select 10 finalists, who will each receive a one-day mentorship session with established South African business leaders. The mentors include Sheldon Tatchell, founder of Legends Barbershop, Mark Sham, founder of Suits & Sneakers, and Bulelani Balabala, founder of Township Entrepreneur Alliance (TEA).
The overall winner will receive an Entrepreneur Edit Business Office Hub valued at R200,000.
The business support package includes a business office or shop setup, a cash injection, fibre internet and a 12-month subscription. It also includes two business computers, a point-of-sale system, backup power, office furniture and a John Craig clothing voucher.
John Craig said the package is designed to address practical requirements faced by entrepreneurs as they establish and grow their businesses, including workspace, connectivity, technology and funding.
“The Entrepreneur Edit is a platform that tangibly demonstrates our commitment to supporting the next generation of South African entrepreneurs and addressing some of the challenges that start-up business owners face every day,” said Siyanda Masina, digital brand manager at John Craig.
Beyond the business prize, the initiative will provide participating entrepreneurs with access to mentorship and business development support from established business leaders and industry experts.
John Craig said The Entrepreneur Edit is intended to extend beyond recognising business ideas by providing entrepreneurs with resources and expertise to support their development.
The retailer said the initiative forms part of its efforts to provide practical support to emerging entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs interested in participating can access information about eligibility, entry requirements and the campaign process through John Craig’s social media platforms.
The initiative combines mentorship with business resources, while the R200,000 prize package provides the selected overall winner with equipment and services covering several operational requirements.
