Tributes flood in for Loxion Kulca’s Wandi Nzimande

Entrepreneur, Fashion director, Kaya FM DJ and co-founder of Loxion Kulca, Mzwandile “Wandi” Nzimande has died at the age of 44.

EWN reports that that Nzimande passed away on Wednesday morning at the Olivedale Clinic in Johannesburg after contracting Covid-19.

Nzimande was known for being the co-founder of one of the most sought after and highly successful street wear brands with business partner Sechaba Mogale.

Loxion Kulca’s prominence in the local fashion industry grew exponentially in the early 2000s, making it the go-to brand for celebrities such as Zola 7 and Phat Joe.

Lucilla Booysen, founder of SA Fashion Week, hailed Nzimande as an artistic, authentic “leader who changed the shape of fashion in our country” in a touching tribute on Instagram.

“We will deeply miss the energy, loyalty, attention and the opportunities that he so freely gave to everyone around him.” She added.

Nzimande was a respected entrepreneur that in the business world because he and his partner created a brand that set the blueprint for other local fashion designers in the fashion industry.

This is shown through tributes on Instagram from young designers such as Tshepo Mohlala of “Tshepo Jeans” and Theo Baloyi of “Bathu” sneakers.
