The programme has empowered more than 9000 African entrepreneurs from across 54 African countries to date, connecting them with high profile private and public sector individuals, investors and advocates to boost their business profiles and scale their opportunities. The programme interventions this year are targeted at small and medium sized enterprises as well as young African entrepreneurs. This is after Covid-19 disrupted economic activities across the world.

The European Union and the Tony Elumelu Foundation partnered to champion female entrepreneurship. This will target 2500 women entrepreneurs across Africa, supporting their empowerment through increased finance and venture capital investment worth €20 million.

TEF is Africa’s leading philanthropy foundation empowering African entrepreneurs with the most innovative business ideas across the continent. It is targeting over 2400 SMEs with a special focus on female entrepreneurs in 2021. The foundation hopes to address leading challenges facing the continent and lift millions out of poverty while creating sustainable employment globally.

Applications for the programme are accepted from 1 January 2021 to 31 March 2021.
