SA Wine Entrepreneur Siwela Masoga Explains Why The Source Of Grapes Is Vital To Produce Quality Wine. The wine industry can be a very expensive business venture as the capital needed to source resources and ingredients for the wine are very expensive. South African wine entrepreneur and founder of Siwela Wines, Siwela Masoga took to Twitter to explain why the source of grapes is vital in producing quality wine.

The post read “The source of grapes is important for the quality of wine produced. As a producer / Winemaker, several options exist: grow your own grapes or buy grapes from local vineyards or buy grapes to be shipped to you.” Masoga has managed to establish her own wine brand that has managed to gain a lot of traction and thereby also gain success. This means that Masoga has been in the industry long enough to know what works in the wine making business and what doesn’t.

She shares that wine entrepreneurs should make sure that they source grapes that are of good quality as this will affect the quality of the wine that they can produce. She also shared that winemakers have different options in order for them to source quality grapes, she suggested that they should either grow their own grapes, buy grapes from local vineyards or buy grapes to be shipped. Owning a vineyard and growing one’s grapes may not be a viable option for a lot of winemakers as vineyards are very expensive to buy or start.

Many entrepreneurs will have to explore working with already established vineyards so that they can partner with them. This way winemakers will still be getting grapes that are of good quality which can be used to make quality wine. Entrepreneurs know that when a product is of good quality, customers will be glad to spend their hard earned money as they will know that they will reactive a product that is of exceptional quality and posses value.
