Getwine Announces The Acquisition Of CyberCellar
Getwine Announces The Acquisition Of CyberCellar. Cape Town based online wine company, Getwine took time to announce the acquisition of CyberCellar, an online wine retailer. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to providing unparalleled wine offerings to its valued customers.
“We’re thrilled to have CyberCellar in our Getwine family. Step into a world of possibilities where you can buy the best South African wines on our online platform. Our commitment to you is great value in our offerings and to deliver these wines to your door right through South Africa. We pride ourselves in our customer care and fast delivery times.” the company said on its website.
Getwine is a South African Wine Portal which allows people to easily buy South African wine online and have it delivered to their door. While the company specialises in unlabelled wines, it also supplies a range of labelled wines at very competitive prices. Unlabelled South African wines came into the market after the Rand strengthened against foreign currencies a few years ago. Many top wine estates could not export their annual wine harvests to European and American shores, resulting in a local surplus of high quality wine.
Getwine originally sourced these fine wines and sold them to friends via Van Riebeeck Wine Promotions e-mail marketing. After experiencing phenomenal growth over a 24-month period, it decided to establish Getwine.co.za, an e-commerce site, in May 2005 to make its unlabelled wines available to all South Africans. Apart from its unlabelled and labelled wines the company also provides information on wineries, winemakers, and further information relating to South Africa’s wines.
