International Pairs South Africa Announces Standard Bank Private As New Title Sponsor
International Pairs South Africa Announces Standard Bank Private As New Title SSponsor. International Pairs South Africa is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Standard Bank Private that will significantly expand the size, scale, and impact of the popular golfing tournament compared to previous years.
With Standard Bank Private as title sponsor, the 2024 International Pairs South Africa tournament, which tees off this month, will accommodate 540 events at golfing clubs across the country. All golfers with an official handicap can enter at their home club. For a once-off entry fee of just R100 per player, payable to the club, each participant receives a box of balls and the chance to advance to the regional stage.
The road to becoming the 2024 South African Champion is paved with opportunities, as each club can have up to four qualifiers, increasing your chances of heading to the International Pairs World Final in Europe later this year – all expenses covered.
South Africa has a rich history of hosting the International Pairs tournament. Now in its ninth year, the tournament’s success lies in its simplicity of spotlighting pairs of everyday club golfers and providing the opportunity for these players to represent their nations on the global stage. The tournament is expected to have an even greater positive impact on neighbouring communities and golf clubs as a result of the dramatic increase in the number of events taking place this year.
Standard Bank Private sees the event as an excellent fit for the private banking arm of Africa’s largest financial services organisation by assets. “We are committed to investing in events that align to the interests of our clients and help to elevate the nation’s sporting landscape, an endeavour that benefits both our local economies and communities at large,” says Bridget Kruger, Head of Standard Bank Private.
“Our purpose as Standard Bank is as follows: Africa is our home; we drive her growth. That said, sponsorships of this nature and size play a key role in driving economic growth and development and, as such, enabling us to fulfil our purpose.” In recognition of this, Standard Bank has supported various sporting initiatives over the years, aimed at growing sports in the country at grassroots, amateur, and professional levels.
“Ambition is frequently seen as the key to success in the sports world. It is the strength that comes from aspiring for something great for ourselves, our families, their families, our communities, and our nations. Sponsorships such as International Pairs South Africa allow us to recognise and honour individuals who exemplify ambition and inspire and drive positive change for future generations.”
Says Armandt Scholtz, Managing Director of International Pairs: “We are thrilled to welcome Standard Bank Private as the new title sponsor of International Pairs South Africa. Their commitment to supporting sports and fostering community engagement aligns seamlessly with the values of the International Pairs tournament. We believe this partnership will not only sustain the tournament’s legacy, but also propel it to greater success.”
