Fire Killa Seeks To Provide Proudly South African Fire Extinguishers

Fire Killa Seeks To Provide Proudly South African Fire Extinguishers. Fire Killa is a proudly South African initiative the extinguishers were designed and developed in South Africa by South Africans, recognising the need to provide such a product for the wider community.

The company provides an alternative to conventional fire extinguishers, making them more affordable to the larger community, and with the added benefit of being able to be recharged at low cost by the user or appointed service agent within the community, thereby contributing to job creation.

Fire Killa’s vision is that every household should have an affordable, safe, effective means to quickly extinguish household fires before they spread and cause devastation to the house and surrounding dwellings, particularly in communities who do not have ready access to sufficient water or fire fighting services. Its mission is to distribute Fire Killa Extinguishers to as many dwellings as possible, through trained and appointed agents, Government Agencies, Aid Agencies, and / or any other relevant parties who share its vision to ensure that there are sufficient persons in the communities who are trained and competent to service Fire Killa Extinguishers safely and cost effectively.

The Fire Killa Extinguisher is a class A extinguisher with non toxic ingredients, which is easily operated by the user with simple to follow instructions on the bottle. The unit comprises a 4 litre injection moulded robust plastic bottle containing 2.5 litres solution of the company’s formula, foaming agent and water. A built in cartridge contains 180 grams of activator, which when required, is released into the water by means of a hand activated plunger. This produces approximately 10 litres of foam, which is dispensed through a nozzle at a rate of about one litre per second. The foam cools and smothers the flame. A safety clip is fitted around the plunger shaft to prevent accidental activation. When required, the clip is easily removed by pulling on the clip ring.

Once used, the unit can be recharged with the activator cartridge, and the formula / foaming agent / water solution. The unit when fully charged weighs approximately 3.5 kg’s. The Fire Killa Extinguisher is not under pressure until activated and does not require regular inspection. After use, the unit should be taken to an appointed service centre to be recharged. Fire Killa Extinguisher is a non pressurized, reusable unit.
