Lesaka Brings Merchant Businesses Together Under One Unified Fintech Platform

Lesaka Brings Merchant Businesses Together Under One Unified Fintech Platform. JSE-listed fintech group Lesaka Technologies has consolidated its merchant-focused businesses under a single Lesaka brand, bringing together payments, cash management, lending and point-of-sale software in a move aimed at simplifying services for businesses across South Africa.
The consolidation follows Lesaka’s acquisition of the Connect Group in 2021 and Adumo in 2024, both of which expanded the company’s capabilities and strengthened its offering to merchants operating across multiple sectors.
Under the new structure, several established businesses will operate under the Lesaka banner while continuing to provide the services they are known for. These include Cash Connect, which provides automated cash management through SABS Category 4 vault-standard cash vaults for retailers, and Capital Connect, which offers unsecured working capital of up to R5 million to retail businesses.
The unified platform also incorporates Kazang, which supplies prepaid value-added services and payment solutions for informal merchants, Adumo, South Africa’s largest independent payments processor with integrated card acquiring and loyalty technology, and Gaap, a provider of point-of-sale and software-as-a-service solutions for the hospitality sector in Southern Africa.
According to Lesaka, the rebranding brings together products and services that were previously offered under different business names while maintaining continuity for existing customers.
Businesses currently using any of the group’s services will not be required to make changes as part of the transition. Existing payment terminals, software platforms and cash management infrastructure will continue operating as normal, while customer accounts and support contacts will remain unchanged.
Lesaka Merchant Division Chief Executive Officer Kagiso Khaole said the unified brand reflects the company’s commitment to making it easier for merchants to access the products and support they need to operate and grow their businesses.
The company said the new structure enables merchants to access a broader range of business solutions through a single platform, including card acquiring, retail software, lending and cash management services.
The consolidation also forms part of Lesaka’s longer-term strategy to integrate the businesses it has acquired over the years into one connected platform.
According to the company, greater integration is expected to improve accessibility and affordability for businesses of different sizes, from single-store operators to larger retail and restaurant groups with multiple locations, while providing a more streamlined customer experience through one unified fintech ecosystem.
