Samsung Releases The New Samsung Galaxy A72

Samsung Releases The New Samsung Galaxy A72. Samsung has just released the successors of last year’s very popular midrangers, the A51 and the A71. It has introduced the Galaxy A72, a phone coming with major improvements over its predecessor in areas such as battery life, screen refresh rate, and camera. Currently, only the 4G version was announced by Samsung and the 5G variant is expected to hit the market around later in the year, just like it happened with Galaxy A71.

The phone boasts specifications such as a 6.70-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) 90Hz display refresh rate; Quad-camera system with a 64MP main sensor with OIS, 32MP selfie; Plastic back; IP67 rating; Android 11; Snapdragon 720G (5G variant will reportedly feature Snapdragon 750G processor); 128GB or 256GB; MicroSD card support; 6GB/8GB RAM; USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack; 5,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging.

The front panel of the Galaxy A72 looks quite pleasing and resembles a mixture between the Galaxy A52 and the premium Galaxy S21. The selfie camera is situated in a small, centered punch-hole, and the display is surrounded by relatively thin bezels with a bit bigger chin. The screen is flat, just like the Galaxy S21’s.

To complement the main sensor, the phone rocks a 12MP ultra-wide cam, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 5MP macro camera. The phone also comes in four colours namely: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Violet, and Awesome Blue. Samsung also confirmed that there will be a Galaxy A72 4G-only variant as well, which might be released around the same time as its 5G-enabled sibling. The A72 is sold at the retail price of R9 999, which is relatively much cheaper than the Galaxy S21 that has a price tag of R25 999.

The Galaxy A72 5G shows very few changes in the design of the display from its predecessor Galaxy A71, which also sports a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, the A72 brings about some exclusive features for the first time in a Samsung mid-ranger. More precisely, the space zoom (30x zoom) and 3x optical zoom, thanks to that 8MP telephoto lens.

The Galaxy A71 features a 4,500mAh battery cell; however, the A72 boasts a massive 5,000mAh battery cell. On top of that big battery cell, the phone supports up to 25W fast wired charging. Keep in mind that it comes with a 15W charger in the box, so if you want those blazing-fast charging speeds, you need to purchase the fast charger separately.
