The Future Of SA StartUp Businesses Amid New Covid Strain

The future of SA StartUp businesses amid new Covid Strain. Only a week into 2021 and the Coronavirus is still doing more harm than good. The country is currently under a lockdown level 3 due to a ride in over a million infections the last days of 2020. What does this mean for businesses?

The liquor industry for starters has taken yet again another hard hit by the immediate suspension of the sale of alcohol. This includes even informal outlets that pretty much sustain themselves through sales. Some restaurants were oh just picking up the pieces after being closed for months on end last year. At this rate, possible permanent closure of these outlets is imminent.

The bigger question however is the availability of funds to assist new startup businesses, both already in existence and those that are still just ideas. A majority of big companies and major investors also feel the effects of the pandemic on their ever deep financial pockets and if the situation does not improve for the better,2021 will be the death of a number of startup dreams.

It is imperative for businesses to look into diversifying their businesses to combat the detrimental effects of Covid-19 and remain relevant to society and their clientele. Precautionary measures to fight the virus itself have been set but it’s more of how to continue offering products and services for profit even under harsh lockdown restrictions. That and other explorable options may be the only way to save startup businesses from sinking.
