How LaShadie A Fashion Start-Up Was Established Out Of Passion For The Industry. LaShadie is a boutique online sunglass store based in Johannesburg that offers a variety of stylish and trendy sunglasses. The company’s vision is to exude vibrancy through its unique eyewear and make everyone who wears them feel phenomenal. LaShadie started off selling products from home, with the intent to not only build a customer base but a family and that’s what it brings to its customers, “every single one feels like a new family member, and is warmly welcomed and treated as such.” The company emphasised on its website.
Formed between two passionate sisters, LaShadie is completely black and female owned and caters to its client’s increasingly aggressive desire for style and trend setting. The company was co-founded by Neo Moshugi and Boitumelo Moshugi who are both practicing candidate attorneys. “As an LLB student my degree has taught me a time-management skill which is essential for any job. In addition it has taught me problem solving skills which will be valuable when assisting prospective clients, and working with colleagues on various matters.” said Neo Moshugi on her LinkedIn profile.
“What inspired LaShadie is our passion for fashion. I was always questioned about my unique sense of style and the choice of sunglasses when pairing my outfits, which led me to want to bring a vision to people in the market place that’s so unique that they cannot be found in retail stores,” Boitumelo told Forbes Africa in an interview.
Being an entrepreneur requires one to be passionate about whatever industry they want to pursue as they might not see profits right away and this might deter some people if they aren’t passionate about what they are pursuing. The sisters also reiterated that they have a passion for the fashion industry, even though they’re both practicing attorneys, they made sure that this does not hinder them from pursuing their passion of being entrepreneurs in the fashion industry.
