Black Motion is an electronic duo known for blending house music with lively indigenous percussion as well as multilingual vocals with an array of guests from the country’s thriving dance music community. Their 2011 debut, Talking to the Drums, helped establish them as leading purveyors of the burgeoning South African house scene. DJ Murder and Smol formed Black Motion in 2010. Their breakthrough came after they joined Faimos Entertainment where they produced the 2010 hit single ‘Banane Mavoko’ featuring the late Jah Rich. The song went on to be included in DJ Oskido’s revered 10th Commandment Compilation CD, and ultimately on a Tribe Records UK release. Below are some of the businesses owned by Black Motion.

Spirit Motion

Black Motion is from Soshanguve, Tshwane, South Africa. Robert “Murdah” Mahosana and Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane are signed with Spirit Motion, a record label that they co-own. The 10-year Black Motion journey has resulted in 6 studio albums and over 40 singles over the past decade. Spirit Motion is a music record label formed in 2012 after the success of the popular group Black Motion.

Black Stream Gin

Black Motion took to Instagram to announce their new alcoholic beverage Black Stream Gin. The post read, “Exclusive and additional flavours launching post September. Remember always those who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt those doing it. its possible black child, believe in yourself and your dreams. Success comes when you give yourself persuasion to dream and play big. The way to start is to stop talking and begin doing. We’ve been working hard to get this right, ladies and gentlemen we give you Black Stream Gin, which has gone through vigorous testing and has been awarded accolades on its launch.”

Soshanguve 1st Funday Event

Multi-award winning house duo Black Motion keep rising against the odds! They celebrate 10 years in the music industry with a bang! To kick things off, they hosted their annual Soshanguve 1st Funday Event at Giant Stadium in Soshanguve, Tshwane.
