Uncle Vinny, Nadia Nakai & Roiii Release Their Merch Through a Startup Called Mercha

Big news for music lovers and musicians alike! On 12 December 2022, South African startup, mercha, will release the merch for some of Africa’s biggest musical acts; Uncle Vinny, Nadia Nakai and Roiii. These 3 artists are the first to be accepted into the mercha family with plans to add more acts from across the continent in 2023. This means that fans all over the world can now finally access and easily purchase merch from African artists. Plus, the artists themselves will earn royalties for each sale. Giving African artists a new and much needed income stream. Everybody wins!

What is Mercha?

mercha is a proudly African company created by artists, music producers, managers, and fans. The company’s slogan: ‘For the artist. For the fans.’ holds true to its creators. “We understand and experience the problems faced by local music artists first hand”, say co-founders Kyle Brown and Zanda Isaacs. “Working in the music industry for years, we knew we had to open up a new revenue stream for artists. For the first time ever, African artists can design, create, sell & fulfill their merchandise for free. The best part is that mercha facilitates the entire process and items can be delivered anywhere in the world.”

mercha’s online platform will be home to Africa’s biggest musical brands and their merch. The aim of the platform is to make it easy for fans from all over the globe to purchase their favourite African musician’s merchandise while giving artists an easy-to-use ecommerce platform that handles all the logistics for them at no cost.

Why is mercha important?

mercha is important because it gives African musicians a new way to sell their merchandise and reach fans who might not otherwise have had access to it. Mercha is revolutionizing how artists make money. Artists earn royalties for each item bought – forever. This means that artists now have a limitless stream of passive income that they can pass onto generations to come. Exactly as they would their music royalties!

How does it work?

It’s pretty simple. Fans can log onto the mercha website and browse through the different artist’s available merchandise. Once they find something they like, they can easily add it to their cart, choose from our multiple payment and shipping options, and check out. That’s it!

For the first time ever, artists can design, create, and sell their merchandise all in one place for free. No set up costs or subscriptions and the artist earns royalties for each item sold – something we hope will continue to grow and benefit both artists and fans alike. If you are looking for unique, high-quality merchandise from some of Africa’s biggest musical brands then look no further than mercha. Shop from the comfort of your own home and support your favorite artist at the same time!
