QP Drone Tech (Pty) Ltd is a South African based company which is  black female -owned and is also a global tech (UAV) business. The company’s aerial vehicle technology covers everything from the aerodynamics of the drone, materials in the assembly of the physical UAV, to the circuit boards, chipset and software, which are the brains of the drone.

Its specialist drone team is perfectly placed to offer expert guidance on drone hardware and support needs. Its industry leading UAV techs will guide its clients from procurement to ongoing fleet maintenance. QP Drone Tech introduces business practices and processes that are compliant with the market requirements in government, parastatals, private sector and NGOs locally and internationally.

Its clients get to work with seasoned experts who have helped dozens of companies launch and grow their drone programs. Drone technology is evolving rapidly, making drones more versatile and better equipped for commercial needs. All of QP Directors have a minimum qualification of Masters degree with one Director being a PHD candidate in drone related solutions.

QP Drone Tech was also selected for the Drone Start-up-Up Accelerator Programme. The accelerator programme was developed by Mzansi Aerospace Technologies and partly supported by Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA). The programme that started in February 2020, began with a day of demonstrations on June 26, 2020, where the founding participants presented their pitch decks to a panel of judges, investors and guest attendees.

Mzansi Aerospace Technologies is a black-owned and operated unmanned aviation technology start-up that is committed to growing this fledgling industry amongst some of the young people that are seeking to build their careers in this industry. Participants were equipped with the tools and skills necessary for drone technology adoption in South Africa, in an initiative aimed at boosting national employment.

The judging panel comprised several host representatives from Enterprise Supplier Developer funds, Development Finance Institutions, Enterprise Supplier Developer funds, and start-up incubating ecosystem providers such as Wits Business School and The Innovation Hub.
