Ogilvy South Africa Leads 2026 Effies with Awards Across Seven Campaigns

Ogilvy South Africa Leads 2026 Effies with Awards Across Seven Campaigns. Ogilvy South Africa received more awards than any other agency at the 2026 Effie Awards South Africa, with its work recognised across seven campaigns involving six client partnerships.

The recognised campaigns covered brands including KFC South Africa, Volkswagen South Africa, Google, Audi South Africa, Vaseline South Africa and Carling Black Label. The work spanned areas such as youth marketing, social media, brand content, community engagement, sustained brand success and marketing disruption.

The Effie Awards recognise marketing effectiveness, with an emphasis on the outcomes campaigns deliver for businesses and brands.

Neo Makhele, chief strategy officer at Ogilvy South Africa, said the results reflected the agency’s focus on creating measurable value for clients across different brands and business challenges.

Makhele was also appointed deputy chair of the Effie Awards South Africa Committee during the awards evening. He said the role would involve contributing to the industry and strengthening the focus on effectiveness in South African marketing.

He added that Effie entries help build evidence of what works, enabling agencies, brands and marketers to make better-informed decisions.

Pete Case, CEO and creative chairman of Ogilvy South Africa, credited the agency’s clients for trusting it with their brands and business challenges. He said the value of marketing work should be measured through outcomes such as business growth, changes in consumer behaviour, market share gains and value creation.

Case also said the standard of work recognised at this year’s awards demonstrated the strength of South African marketing.

According to Ogilvy, the 2026 results continue a five-year record in which the agency has received more Effie awards than any other agency in South Africa.

The agency said its approach centres on connecting creativity with commercial impact, from developing long-term brand platforms to launching products and encouraging consumer engagement.

The results highlight the range of client work recognised at this year’s awards and place marketing effectiveness at the centre of Ogilvy South Africa’s stated business strategy.

The agency said it would continue focusing on helping clients build brands, strengthen businesses and develop connections with consumers through work designed to deliver measurable results.
